ArtHeals
Through our ArtHeals Exhibit, InterUrban ArtHouse celebrates the important role that art plays in healing. This exhibition showcases works, performances and stories of those who have created work in response to physical and mental health challenges, whether their own or those of someone close to them, or in reaction to collective community trauma and events.
Her art/their art
Presented by the UMKC Women’s Center and InterUrban ArtHouse as part of the ongoing Her Art Project:
This show is to illustrate and celebrate the unique experiences and challenges female-identifying and non-binary femme artists face in America, as they bring together family, careers, activism, and artistic fulfillment.
What does it mean to identify, live, navigate, or be perceived by society as Womxn in 21st century America?
Queer Experience 2021
Artists, musicians, and storytellers in the LGBTQIA community to tell their stories and share their experiences with the world.
Tangled roots 2021
While feeling divided from each other, be it ideologically, racially, or socioeconomically, has become part of the “new normal,” it can also too easily lead us to forget that each of us are a part of a shared American and human experience. Inspired by our rich diversity, Tangled Roots brings artists together from varied backgrounds to enhance a much needed mutual appreciation and heightened awareness of each other’s contributions to the unique beauty of our communities.
