This Is Permanent is an exhibition, open to all Kansas City area artists, celebrating the talent, skill, and importance of tattoo artists and tattoo as an art form. Cultures worldwide and throughout history have used tattoos and skin adornment to reflect self expression, personal and cultural identity, achievement, rights of passage, belonging, beauty ideals, rebellion, worldview, creativity, and so many other aspects of human existence. The same can be said for every art form, so we want to know: How does the work of tattoo artists translate onto the gallery wall?
