Je suis né en France en 1976. J’ai vécu à Londres au Royaume-Uni pendant plus de 15 ans où j’ai obtenu mon diplôme (licence) en infographie/photographie à l’Université des Arts de Londres. J’ai plusieurs années d’expérience en tant que graphiste indépendant.
L’ensemble de ce travail s’appuie sur la difficulté d’être soi au delà des règles arbitraires qu’impose la société. Un panel d’images hétérogènes se présente dans des systèmes d’entre-deux, essayant inlassablement d’échapper à une catégorisation hétéronormative de l’individu. Ainsi, de multiples esquisses de personnages non-identifiables s’inventent, explorant l’iconographie queer et la plasticité des corps. Ce travail souhaite donc bouleverser les modèles établis en se jouant des codes, avec l’intention de remettre en cause la binarité des genres.
I was born in France in 1976. I lived in London UK for more than 15 years where I completed my degree in graphic design (illustration) at the University of the Arts in London. I have many years of experience as a freelance graphic designer.
This entire work is based on the difficulty of being oneself beyond the arbitrary rules imposed by society. A collection of heterogeneous images introduce through systems caught in between, tirelessly trying to escape a heteronormative categorization of the individual. Thus, many sketches of unidentifiable characters are invented, while exploring the queer iconography and the plasticity of bodies. This work therefore wishes to disrupt established models by playing with codes, in order to challenge the gender binary.
Social distancing guidelines encouraged for all in person events, we ask that guests establish mutual consent for close contact. Mask wearing respected, especially by anyone not yet vaccinated.
This show is for all artists, musicians, and storytellers in the LGBTQIA community to tell their stories and share their experiences with the world. There are many ways to engage with one’s queerness , be it through direct discussion, visual representation, or just by living and observing. Through visual and performance art, music, and spoken word, these artists do just that.
The opening reception is Friday, June 18th, 5-8pm at the InterUrban ArtHouse, 8001 Newton St, Overland Park, KS 66204. Everyone inside and outside of the LGBTQ+ community is welcome to attend.

The Fun Never Has To End: Directed by Chas Bennett-Brack

Brooklyn based advocate, activist, and filmmaker Chas. Bennett Brack studied documentary arts at Antioch College, graduating with a degree in Multicultural and Interdisciplinary Studies. After relocating to NYC, he put his skills and talent to use through gay rights activism as well as working for and with multiple organizations at the intersection of public health and social justice.
In the early 90s, Chas. worked for the Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC), an AIDS service organization, which formed The House of Latex, a house that was formed in order to educate those in the NYC Ballroom culture about protecting themselves and each other through safe sex. Through GMHC, he directed The Fun Never Has to End, an intervention in film format, meant to help the Black and Latino LGBTQ+ youth and adults within Ballroom culture to better understand the dangers of the AIDS crisis they were being so harshly affected by, and the dire need to use condoms in order to protect themselves.
