The Care of Caregiver’s Art Therapy Group

Caring for a loved one can be exhausting, debilitating and overwhelming. This six
week group is designed for people caring for a sick or elderly loved one, and will
offer participants an opportunity to vent, create, unwind and connect with others
dealing with this challenging life cycle stage. No art experience required! 

Cost: $90.00 ($15.00 per session)
6 Weeks: April 11th - May 24th, Mondays 10:30am -12:30pm

This group is co-led by Sherri Jacobs and Matt Herynk

Sherri Jacobs

Sherri received her master's degree in marriage and family therapy from Friends University in Kansas City, and her master's degree in art therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has worked for many years as an art therapist with children, adolescents, families, elderly and people with dementia.  

Sherri is: founder of Heartland Art Therapy,  a trained mediator, approved by the Kansas Supreme Court, past president of the Kansas Art Therapy Association, TEDxOverlandPark founder, and has held numerous civic leadership positions.  Sherri is married and raising four children in the Kansas City area.

Matt Herynk, Ph.D

Matt received his Ph.D in Cancer Biology from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX.  He cared for his wife as she battled cancer.  He is now raising their two kids in Overland Park, KS.  For many years he has worked with other young adults caring for their spouse as they battle cancer.  He recently founded YoungAdultCaregiver to better serve more caregivers.
