Curators Connect: Heidmann Art Salon

  • Linda Lighton Studio 708 East 31st Street Kansas City, MO, 64109 United States (map)

This session will be hosted by Scott Heidmann and Ken Petti, owners and curators of the Heidmann Art Salon, at Linda Lighton Studio, 708 E. 31st St, KCMO 64109. This is a free event, but please RSVP so we know how many folks to prepare for.

Kansas City area artists and curators of all career levels are invited to participate in a series of informal “Curators Connect” conversations taking place in multiple art spaces throughout 2024. Conversations are meant to open doors for artists by shedding light on best practices at each gallery, as well as familiarizing them with different types of exhibition spaces and models. These sessions are also good for curators to interact with and learn from each other across sub sectors of the arts. Presenting curators will also share their visions for the spaces they represent and provide an opportunity for open and honest Q&A from attendees.

About Heidmann Art Salon:

"Driven by a mutual passion for art, the artist’s story, and for creating uniquely engaging “experiences” for the art-loving community are Scott Heidmann and Ken Petti, the masterminds behind the HEIDMANN ART SALON. The two men, who always have surprises up their sleeves, conceptualize and curate unique, thematic exhibitions that go beyond mere art viewings. Rather, they welcome invited guests into an experiential evening where art, performance, food, drink and atmosphere merge.

Heidmann and Petti co-exist in fascinating synchronicity, both in their life and work collaborations, which are dialed-in with an abundance of creative energy, and pulled off with cleverness and skill. Heidmann a longtime designer and art collector, and Petti, a fashion advertising veteran from New York, and branding man whose well never runs dry of witty ideas, together, find a lot of joy and laughter through their process and presentation, and by celebrating other people’s talent while benefitting from the human connection and the enjoyment of art in its many forms.”
