Are you an emerging-mid career artist or new to the area and have questions about the whats, wheres, hows, whys, and why-nots of approaching art spaces and showing your work? Are you an aspiring or practicing curator who'd like to learn from and engage more with your peers?

Kansas City area artists and curators of all career levels are invited to participate in a series of informal “CuratorsConnect” conversations taking place in multiple art spaces throughout 2023. Conversations are meant to open doors for artists by shedding light on best practices at each gallery, as well as familiarizing them with different types of exhibition spaces and models. Presenting curators will also share their visions for the spaces they represent and provide an opportunity for open and honest Q&A from attendees.

First session is Sat, April 15th, 5-7pm: Habitat Gallery and Sherry Leedy Contemporary , 5pm Curators Robb Gann and Elise Galiardi will present. Meet at Habitat first, inside the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center, 2012 Baltimore Ave. Kansas City, MO 64108. We'll move next door to Sherry Leedy Contemporary at 6pm, 2004 Baltimore Ave, Kansas City, MO 64108

Space will be limited to 25 artist attendees, free registration required. Attendance at multiple sessions is encouraged as the more types of spaces you come to understand, the better you'll be able to find a good fit for your art.
