Jill plans on discussing the importance of drawing, following with some basic drawing exercises. Then in the afternoon transition to how drawing and pastels are used to create vibrant paintings. There will be time spent on materials and why Jill feels they are important for what can be accomplished. There will be in studio assignments to learn from and challenge students on some of the methods Jill has come to use for her paintings. All of this with a fun atmosphere.

Sketchbook (recommend 9x12 in size. Also recommend toned paper. Strathmore is a good sketchbook that's toned.)
Pencils: 2H, 4H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B
Charcoal: Hard and Vine
Stump of any size you are comfortable with

Pastels: Rembrandt SOFT pastels (at least a set of 15 or half sticks)
