Described as "Diaspora Gothic", Hadiza writes songs that explore themes related to the impact of colonization through varying means; whether that is invoking the names and symbols of Orishas, examining feelings of disconnectedness to place, family and society or reflecting on past relationships.
Hadiza is in the process of pressing vinyl for her new album, Shadow Weight through an inspiration grant from Arts KC.
