Beginners to advanced artists

Tuesdays 12pm-3pm  -  January 23rd - March 13th

A total of 10 available sessions, students must commit to at least 4.  

Students will learn the properties of pastels and how to use pastels.  Students will work from a still life and learn to see and draw /paint with pastels.

You will need:

Soft pastels (bring your own or available from the instructor for $28) and Pastel paper (bring your own or available from the instructor for $18) 

Each week lessons will include basics of design, composition, color, and use of layering pastel.

Cost is $25 per class if purchasing 4-7 sessions or $20 per class if attending 8 or more.

About Marcia: 

Marcia  Streepy has been surrounded by creative fine artist all her life. She has a Graduated from Marymount College, Saline KS with a BSN. She worked as an RN from 1975 until 1987. After a short time started selling her art work and steadily became more involved with the world of fine art. She has continued her education at Kansas University, Johnson County community College and studied with numerous nationally known artists such as Wolf Kahn, Albert Handel, Doug Dawson and Lorenzo Chaves in their  workshops.
 
She is influenced by John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Pat Potucek, Charles Reid and Jodie DePew. Her work is in the New York art Center and Strecker Nelson Gallery in Manhattan KS and in many private collections. She is a member of the Mid America Pastel Society , The Kansas City  Artist  Coalition. She has exhibited and won awards in various national and international juried art exhibitions. She is married and has two grown daughters.
