Intermediate Sewing: Basic Alterations

Let’s make your clothes fit! Bring your sewing machine and an item of clothing (or 2) that you need altered, and Ruby Lindell will teach you how to do it, step by step!  Possible alterations could include hemming pants/skirts/dresses, sides in/out, shortening sleeves, etc.  Students will learn expert tips and tricks on how to alter their own clothing, or clothing for a friend!  

Ruby will also provide items for students to practice on if they don’t have anything to bring. During or after class, feel free to share your opinions with Ruby about what you would be interested in learning more about in future classes!  All ages of women and men welcome!

Ruby Tuesday Lindell

Ruby is a seamstress/tailor in Kansas City, MO. Her alterations career began in 2006 and she has worked at many alterations shops in the Kansas City area since.  Currently she alters men’s clothing at Jos. A. Bank downtown, wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses for The Gown Gallery, and freelance work, including custom clothing.  

She has experience teaching beginning and intermediate sewing classes for all ages and is passionate about passing along her sewing knowledge!  One of her goals is to help train the next generation of professional seamstresses/tailors!
