Seeking project proposals! Project budgets may range from $200-$600. Events will take place in July, August and September of 2023 in the Downtown Overland Park area. We are encouraging creatives to throw their ideas into the pool, they can be fine-tuned later. Project proposals are due by June 15th.
INTERURBAN ARTHOUSE'S ArtsConnect is an ongoing community engagement program that places arts at the center of local outreach events, neighborhood festivals, open studios and exhibitions. The InterUrban ArtHouse, located in Overland Park, Kansas, is looking for artists to participate in an addition to their ArtsConnect Program titled "Arts Across Ages”.
Visual and performative artists are invited to submit proposals for activities that will provide hands-on creative activities and/or performative works to intergenerational communities including pre-K through 12th grade students, seniors and community members at large. "Arts Across Ages" programming will prioritize participation of low-to-moderate income individuals and families in the community.
Activities should be structured to take place in centralized venues including parks, community centers and at IUAH. Locations TBD. In addition to work time, your budget should include costs for supplies, transportation, co-instructors, set up and tear down.
Projects may include (but are not limited to):
Musical Performances
Art Activities (including hands on arts/crafts, live demonstrative works, etc.)
Installations (participatory temporary art assembly/installation - e.g. public weaving loom, community mural)
"Walking" story through the park/sidewalks, etc that encourage activity
Dance Performances
Dance/movement activity
Storytelling/Poetry (Writing/Storytelling activities)
....and your BIG ideas to intersect the ages and contribute to the community's intergenerational wellbeing. Again, a perfectly pitched idea is not necessary. We are seeking innovative, exciting and intergenerational activities!
