This class is great for beginners as well as for artists who want to increase the sense of depth, form, and accuracy in their drawings or paintings. Techniques for creating a proportionally solid drawing will be covered before moving on to the subject of light logic and how to create the illusion of depth and space. We will use photographs, master artist’s drawings, and and still lives to learn how to apply these concepts to both 2D and 3D references.
We will work in both graphite and charcoal, and skills learned in this class will be applicable to any medium. Subject matter offered will include man-made and natural still life objects, portraits, and figurative images, depending on the interests of the student. In addition to numerous studies, students will have the opportunity to produce large finished charcoal drawings with step-by-step guidance.
Class fee is $320, all materials are provided.
